Newly formed Houston-based E&P company Eagle Mountain Energy Partners LLC (EMEP) has secured equity commitments from Dallas-based private equity firms Pearl Energy Investments and NGP. EMEP was founded in early 2020 by Eric Pregler (CEO), Shaleen Patel (CFO) and Michael DeKruif (VP of Engineering), who previously worked in various senior roles at Kayne Anderson, Pioneer Natural Resources, Carrizo Oil & Gas, and Oasis Petroleum. The company’s strategy is to acquire low-risk, long-lived producing assets with development upside primarily in the Williston Basin and other select Rockies basins. Pearl Energy Investments has US$1.2 billion of committed capital under management, with a focus on investments in the North American upstream, midstream, and oilfield services sectors. NGP is a private equity firm with approximately US$20 billion of cumulative equity commitments in the energy and natural resources sectors, having invested in over 360 transactions since 1988.
