The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP) have signed an agreement to explore and develop a shallow gas reservoir in an area covering approximately 5,000 sq. km between Saih Al Sidirah and Jebel Ali, along the border between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The agreement was signed on Monday by DUSUP Director General Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed, and ADNOC CEO Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, witnessed by the Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Jebel Ali Project could develop resources of up to 80 trillion cubic feet of gas, making it one of the largest gas projects to be developed globally in more than a decade. Gas produced from the project will be supplied to Dubai, and be used primarily for power generation.
